RZR tires are commonly the same height/diameter on the front and back and traditionally you’d want to keep a narrower tire size up front. The RZR comes with three sizes of wheels, the steel 12 inch wheels and the 12 inch and 14 inch aluminum wheels. ![]() The choices in RZR tires have never been so crazy. Tires specifically for high speed Baja riding with 8-ply, radial construction and extreme 30 inch plus ATV mud tires with 2 inch treads have become readily available from all tire brands. Because of the success of that tire many brands developed models that were very similar to the Bighorn’s tread pattern and features.Īs the RZR market has grown and riders from all over the country have built their machines for specific types of riding the need for more specialized tires has grown exponentially. It’s been a strong favorite for many years among RZR owners. The Maxxis Bighorn is the stock Polaris RZR tires. If you want to be in the 30 inch club, here’s what you have to choose from. Well I guess the noise was just too loud for the tire manufactures to ignore and now new 30 inch ATV tires are starting to become available for side x sides and 4×4 quads. It’s a whole new era son! Since the UTV and big bore 4×4 ATV market has exploded over the last couple years riders have been expressing their desire for bigger and badder tires. For sport quads the front tires are always taller then the back tire and for utility quads, most of the time the front and back tires are the same height, just different widths. In general the front tires are always more narrower. One size will be for the front and the other for the back. With this tire size you would add 2 inches of ground clearance.Īs a reminder, most of the, like 99% of the time, you’ll need 2 different sizes when buying all four ATV tires. Just remember, if you have a 12 inch wheel, you have to get tires that have a “12” at the end of the tire size.Īs an example, you’re stock setup has 25×10-12 on the back and you want add a little more ground clearance and you’ve made sure you have the room to accommodate a taller tire, one of your options would be a 27×10-12. So when you’re looking at tires and you’re thinking about maybe getting a taller tire or a wider tire by referencing your current tire size and measuring clearances on your ATV you’ll be able to determine what sizes are possible to fit your application. So in this case this tire goes on a 12 inch wheel/rim and it can no way shape or form be mounted on any other wheel sizes. The last number, in this example, “12” indicates the diameter of the wheel the tire is to be mounted on. ![]() The second number, in this example “10” represents the overall width of the tire when it’s mounted on a wheel and inflated to the manufactures suggested air pressure. The first number, in this example “25” represents the height of the tire when it’s mounted on a rim and inflated to the manufactures suggested air pressure. In most cases you’ll see the numbers for the tire size displayed like this, 25×10-12, and sometimes you’ll see it like this, 25x10x12. To point out, it’s not like reading the size on your car tires. ![]() One good thing to understand when shopping for quad tires is, knowing how to read ATV tire size.
